The Kent County Health Department is launching a pilot program to combat lead exposure.
The Get Ahead of Lead program will provide a lead-reducing drinking water filter to homes that have lead plumbing, lead service lines or older faucets.
Households can qualify if they have a child under the age of 18, a pregnant woman lives in the home or if a household member is enrolled in Medicaid or WIC.
Households must be able to show they cannot afford a filter.
