A Muslim woman says she will sue the Kent County Sheriff's Office after she was forced to remove her hijab for a booking photo.
Attorney Amy Doukoure says her client, Jannah Hague, was arrested for a domestic violence incident on April 8.
Doukoure says her client was initially told she could leave her hijab on for the photo but then a male officer told her to remove it.
The attorney says Hague identified herself as a practicing Muslim but the officer told her it didn't matter and removed her religious head covering.
The Kent County Sheriff's Office says Hague was asked to remove the hijab but claims she was not asked to do so in front of any men.
