Grand Rapids Public Schools hiring security expert for review

The Grand Rapids Public Schools Board of Education is hiring Secure Education Consultants to conduct a full security review after a student brought a loaded gun to school.

This is the fourth instance of a gun on school grounds during this school year.

The assessment will last six months and will include a review of procedures as well as physical buildings.

The team will look at vulnerable parts of the district and provide recommendations.
