Wyoming officials fired fire chief over performance

Wyoming city leaders told the former fire chief that he was not meeting expectations as he was fired earlier this month.

The city told Chief Brian Bennett in a memo on March 7 that after consulting with Wyoming Police Chief Kim Koster, the city was deciding to separate from Bennett.

Officials thanked Bennett for his service and contributions to the department but said his performance was not meeting expectations.

Bennett was hired as chief in 2018.
