Attorneys for the family of Patrick Lyoya are announcing a civil lawsuit against the city of Grand Rapids and former Grand Rapids Police Officer Christopher Schurr.
Attorneys Ven Johnson and Ben Crump will hold a press conference on Wednesday to discuss the details of the lawsuit.
Schurr is charged with second-degree murder for the April 4 death of Lyoya.
Schurr's attorneys say he was acting in self defense.
