Kent County commissioners are approving the 2023 budget.
The board voted on Thursday to approve the $440.2 million budget that will run for only nine months, to sync the county's fiscal year with state and federal sources.
Kent County Board of Commissioners Chair Stan Stek says the budget is balanced and supports critical needs while also protecting the county's financial reserves.
Around $173.6 million of the budget is funded by taxes.
