The Little River Band of Ottawa Indians is getting a second chance at a casino in Fruitport Township.
In June, Governor Whitmer did not sign off on plans for the casino based on a pending decision on whether the Department of Interior would grant federal recognition to the tribe.
Fruitport Township says the DOI has now invited the tribe to resubmit their casino application.
The tribe says the casino would create 1,500 construction jobs and 1,500 full-time jobs.
