MI test scores show impact from pandemic

Test scores from the National Assessment of Educational Progress show the pandemic had an impact on education for Michigan students.

According to the scores, between 2019 and 21022 fourth-grade students went down seven points in reading while eighth-grade students dropped four points for reading.

The scores reflect roughly two percent of fourth and eighth grade students from 260 schools in the state.

State Superintendent Michael Rice says the sample size is small and makes it difficult to make awide generalization.
