Great Lakes mark 100 drownings for third year in a row

The Great Lakes have surpassed 100 drownings in 2022.

The Great Lakes Surf Rescue Project says this is the third consecutive year the grim milestone has been reached.

GLSRP co-founder Bobby Pratt says education is the ultimate solution to the problem.

Pratt says they are pushing to create curriculum in schools to teach children water safety.

The organization would also like to see mandatory rescue equipment at beaches and more lifeguards.
