Probable case of monkeypox in Kent County

The Kent County Health Department says the first probable case of monkeypox has been identified in Kent County.

The department says the person is isolating and does not pose a risk to the public.

Officials say the patient recently traveled out of state and had close contact with someone who also likely had monkeypox.

Monkeypox spreads from person to person by direct contact with bodily fluids or monkeypox lesions.
