4th of July shootings leave one dead, one injured in GR

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - There were two separate shooting on Independence Day in Grand Rapids that left one injured, while the other killing a teenager.

The first one happened around 3:40 p.m. on Leonard Street near College Avenue, where a 16-year-old was killed after a confrontation between three people on bicycles and a man walking.

Then, just after 8 p.m., another shooting happened on Prince Street just west of Fuller and Martin Luther King Jr. Park. One person was taken from the scene in an ambulance. That person’s condition is unknown.

The two shootings are unrelated.

No suspect information has been released for either shooting
