Rosa Parks Circle is open to the public after more than a year of being closed.
The original plan was to complete upgrades to the park by September of 2021 for the 20th anniversary of the Ecliptic, the work that shapes the park.
However, shipping, fabrication and manufacturing delays created problems for crews.
Karie Enriquez, project manager for the Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation Department, says there is no way city leaders could have anticipated what the area means to the city today.
