Juvenile in custody for Newaygo school threat

Newaygo Public School officials say a juvenile was taken into custody in connection to a school threat on Thursday.

Superintendent Jeff Wright wrote a letter to parents and said a threat was posted to social media that mentioned the district.

The school went into secure mode around 11:15 a.m., meaning students and staff were able to move throughout the building but no one was able to exit or enter the school.

The school went out of secure mode around 11:25 a.m.
