The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says a one-year-old is safe and a suspect is in custody after an Amber Alert was issued Friday afternoon.
Police say 32-year-old Eric James Smith was taken into custody around 4:40 p.m.
The alert was issued in relation to a homicide that occurred Friday afternoon.
Officials say the homicide was domestic and one person was killed.
