HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office has identified the 62-year-old woman who was killed in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday night ... and the alleged at-fault driver of the other vehicle.
It happened 7:10 p.m. at James Street and Butternut Avenue. Investigators say a speeding GMC Acadia struck a Jeep Grand Cherokee that was making a turn.
Police said in a news release sent to WOOD Radio News that Maria Venegas-Acevedo of Holland was killed in the crash. Three other people were taken to a hospital, including a one-year-old child and a 62-year-old man who had to be airlifted there.
The sheriff's office said the driver of the Acadia was Rajinder Kaur of Holland. She was arrested at the crash scene. And the Ottawa County Prosecutor's Office has filed a charge of Operating While Intoxicated Causing Death.
Bond was set at $25,000. Kaur has since been released from jail, but police say more charges are possible.
The OCSO said Kaur was arraigned by Judge Anna White in the 58th District Court. Bond was set at $25,000 10% and Kaur has since been released.
