GRANDVILLE, Mich. -- Faith-based food pantry organizations and the City of Grandville will partner Saturday in hosting a Food & Basic Needs Drive.
It will coincide with National Faith and Blue Weekend.
Donations will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Wedgewood Park on Wilson Avenue and at the Grandville Target on 44th Street in Grandville. It's the fifth year for the event. The requested items include food and personal care items, plus baby products. Some area churches are also participating.
The Grandville Police added this statement in a news release:
We’re inviting the community to join us in this effort to help those in need. Donations will be accepted from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the following locations:
Wedgewood Park – 3391 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville
Grandville Target – 3130 44th St. SW, Grandville
This marks the fifth year of this meaningful event. Thanks to the generosity of our community, thousands of pounds of food and essential items have already been distributed to our partnering food pantries.
Participating faith-based organizations include Grace Bible Church, Grandville Jenison Congregational Church, St. Pius X, Fellowship Christian Reformed Church, and the Grandville United Methodist Church.
