GREEN CHARTER TOWNSHIP (WOOD-AM) - Supervisor Jason Kruse tells WOOD-TV that Green Charter Township is not going to comment on its appeal after a judge said a previous township board's agreement with Gotion must be enforced.
"We're just waiting to find out exactly what the court rules on and we’ll go from there," Kruse said. "Until get something hard as far as ruling or something like that, we're just waiting."
Arguments in that case are scheduled for May.
Gotion wants to put a $2.36 billion electric vehicle battery facility in Mecosta County.
Republicans say they are worried about Gotion's ties to China, including possible ties to the Chinese Communist Party.
Gotion has reportedly paused work on state permitting as the legal process plays out.
