GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Firefighters are cleaning up what they say is a hazardous-materials situation on Grand Rapids' southeast side.
They arrived around 9 a.m. Monday at the Master Finish just south of Burton Street, between Nelson and Kalamazoo avenues. City spokesman Steve Guitar tells WOOD Radio around 10:50 a.m. that Grand Rapids firefighters would be on the scene for a while and that the situation was confined to the inside of the building.
So, no evacuation by neighbors was needed. There is no indication yet what chemicals were involved.
WOOD TV-8 first reported the story and posted some on-scene images outside the building.
