GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Corewell Health says it will allow only two people to visit patients during the day at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, and one person overnight.
The restriction on visits to pediatric inpatient units is due to an uptick in the number of respiratory illnesses being reported.
Here are more details from a Corewell Health news release:
These restrictions only apply to pediatric inpatient units, which remain open and ready to care for patients. Additionally, care may look different with longer wait times and beds in non-traditional settings.
To protect yourself and your children from respiratory viruses, experts at Corewell Health recommend:
- Stay home if you are sick.
- Wash your hands frequently.
- Get vaccinated against influenza, whooping cough, RSV and COVID-19.
In addition, there are new vaccines available for RSV. Talk to your pediatrician, obstetrician or primary care physician for more information.
- Monoclonal antibody for infants and children.
- Vaccine for pregnant people.
- Vaccine for adults over 65.
