Renovations begin today to Grand Rapids City Hall accessibility

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Renovations are beginning today at Grand Rapids City Hall.

Improvements will be made to accessibility from the Government Center Parking Ramp to the city and to the adjacent Kent County Administration Building.

A new elevator will be added to the main lobby. There will be new storefront doors to acess 300 Monroe Center. A pedestrian ramp will provide step-free access to the building. And there will be reconfigured A-D-A parking spaces within the ramp.

The city reminds visitors: "Please be attentive to any directional signs posted around the buildings. We're so excited to improve 300 Monroe's accessibility for our residents, community members, and staff."
