PARK TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- All the residents of a mobile home in Park Township got out safely during a fire this morning, but a dog had to be rescued through a window.
The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office says firefighters and paramedics responded around 6:20 a.m. to the Holiday West Mobile Home Park. The location is at 3611 Butternut Drive near 148th Avenue.
Heavy smoke and flames were seen when firefighters arrived on the scene. They were assisted by a neighbor in getting the dog out through the window. It was then given oxygen. There is no indication yet what started the fire, which is being investigated.
The Red Cross is helping the displaced residents.
The responding agencies included the Park Township Fire Department, AMR Ambulance, the Holland Township Fire Department, Port Sheldon Fire Department and the Ottawa County Sheriff' Office.
