Lenear and LaGrand to hold mayoral debate tonight at Wealthy Theater

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- A two-hour mayoral debate gets underway at 6 o'clock Monday evening at the Wealthy Theater in Grand Rapids.

Former Third Ward city commissioner Senita Lenear is competing against former Second Ward city commissioner David LaGrand in the November 5th election. One of them will replace long-time Rosalynn Bliss as mayor. She's being term-limited out of office at year's end.

The mayoral debate is being organized by The Rapidian and GRTV, which will air it live. There is no cost for general admission, but you must register in advance. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

LaGrand was a Second Ward city commissioner from 2007 to 2010, and served as a state representative from 2015 to 2022. Lenear was a Third Ward city commissioner from 2014 to 2022. She is also a business owner and served on the Kent County Friend of the Court and Lead Task Force.
