Gold Coast Doulas collect nearly 15,000 diapers during September drive

WEST MICHIGAN -- Gold Coast Doulas LLC collected 14,910 diapers during its ninth annual diaper drive in September.

That is just 90 diapers short of its goal of collecting 15,000 during the month. It also collected 87 packages of wipes, as well as cloths and a training-pants donation. Gold Coast had collected 13,372 disposable diapers and 67 packs of wipes in 2023.

"So, we're very thankful to be able to give those diapers directly to social service organizations to give to families in need," said Gold Coast owner Kristin Revere.

Those families are in Kent, Ottawa and Allegan counties. The charity drive partners included Nestlings Diaper Bank of West Michigan and the Great Start Parent Coalition.

Nestlings has distributed more than 2.6 million diapers and helped more than 50,000 families since 2011. Nestlings Diaper Bank also works with 31 partner agencies to distribute the diapers to families in need.

Gold Coast Doulas is a a Certified 'B' corporation.

Kristin Revere and Alyssa Veneklase co-founded Gold Coast Doulas, LLC., a birth and postpartum doula agency located in the Eastown area of Grand Rapids. They also co-host the Ask the Doulas Podcast.
