Boys and Girls club planning $4.5 million renovation in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - The Boys and Girls Club is planning a $4.5 million renovation to its Seidman Club on Crofton Street.

"The space is going to be modern and have all the modern amenities that kids need and deserve," CEO Patrick Placzkowski told WOOD-TV.

Placzkowski says the gym will see major improvements, including a new floor and baskets. Old locker rooms no longer in use will also be converted.

Half of the funding has already been raised, in part through federal and state funds.

The organization is aiming to start construction in March 2025. They're hoping work will be done by the end of next year.
