Man drowns at Versluis Park

PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP (WOOD-AM) - Kent County Sheriff's deputies say a 44-year-old man drowned at Versluis Park in Plainfield Township on Saturday.

Plainfield Fire Chief Kyle Svoboda says other swimmers and boaters were trying to find the man when authorities arrived on scene.

"Moby's Dive Shop, which is just off of Northland Drive here, they had a couple rescue divers that were also in the water assisting in the efforts," Svoboda told WOOD-TV. "They, in fact, were the ones that found the victim, and we helped bring the victim out."

The man's name has not been released.
