ROCKFORD (WOOD-AM) - Police in Rockford say a gun that was found in front of the Rockford Public Schools community services and administration building on Tuesday belongs to a local firefighter.
The Rockford Department of Public Services worker placed the gun on his vehicle while trying to get his child ready for school.
A parent spotted the gun and locked it in their vehicle. No one was injured.
The case is now being reviewed by the Kent County Prosecutor's Office.
