LANSING, Mich. -- The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, & Energy (EGLE) has declared Tuesday a Clean Air Action Day for elevated levels of ozone in parts of West Michigan.

In the WOOD Radio listening area, the Air Quality Advisory is in effect for Kent, Ottawa, Allegan, Muskegon and Van Buren counties. Other impacted counties include Berrien and Cass, Kent.

"Pollutants within those areas are expected to be in the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (USG, Orange AQI) range," Robert Johnson stated in a news release. He is associate transportation planner for the Grand Valley Metropolitan Council.
