GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The 5k Rhythm Run/Walk returns to Martin Luther King Jr. Park in Grand Rapids on August 17.
The e Grand Rapids African American Health Institute (GRAAHI) says the run/walk will run from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. that day, and the health fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
More than 130 runners and walkers will be participating. Organizers say there will be a strong focus on team involvement.
"The Rhythm Run is a crucial event for advancing healthy lifestyles and tackling health disparities within the African American community," said Vanessa Greene, CEO of GRAAHI. “We’re excited to bring back this beloved event and provide a space for our community to come together, celebrate health and wellness, and advocate for positive change.”

The Rhythm Run is more than just a 5k Walk/Run; it's a celebration of health and wellness for our community. Following the run, the annual family health fair will feature 30+ vendors, as well as free services including:
● Mobile mammogram screening by Corewell Health

● Relaxation Station by Body Sculpt Better Body Bar & Spa
