Funding mechanism for major downtown Grand Rapids projects passed by voters

GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - Grand Rapids Mayor Rosalyn Bliss says she's pleased that voters passed a major funding mechanism for the city's downtown riverfront amphitheater and proposed soccer stadium.

"It's good for the future of Grand Rapids and we need to invest in assets like this that will continue to move our city forward," Bliss told WOOD-TV.

Voters in yesterday's primary passed a three-percent increase in the county's lodging tax

Voters also approved renewals of the early childhood millage and a millage for the Kent District Library.
