No injuries reported after trash-hauling semi flips over on US-131

COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. -- Michigan State Police say a trash-hauling semi-truck flipped onto its side this morning on southbound US-131.

It happened around 6 o'clock in the Comstock Park area of Plainfield Township.

No one was hurt in the single-vehicle crash. MSP hasn't said yet what caused it.

Two southbound lanes were blocked by the big rig until a recovery crew could upright it and get it off the freeway. The traffic backup extended back to Rockford. Not only did it happen during the Monday morning rush, but traffic was heavier than usual with a lot of people returning home after the holidays.

After a while, motorists were able to get around the semi in the right lane. But traffic was stop-and-go until the scene cleared a little after 10 a.m.
