GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - Consumers Energy says around 63,000 of its customers are still without power this morning following yesterday's storms.
The utility says crews from five states are now working to restore electricity to those who were impacted.
Those who encounter a downed power line are being urged to call 911, then the utility.
Several injuries are being linked to the storm. Joggers in Muskegon County and Grand Haven were reportedly injured, and a third person was hurt in a crash near Whitehall.
Fire officials in Grand Rapids are reminding homeowners to keep generators away from structures after a multi-family structure caught fire yesterday on Dawes Avenue. A family pet died in that fire and a firefighter suffered a back injury.
