Wyoming woman dies after car struck by cement truck

BLENDON TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- A northbound cement truck slammed into a car Friday morning in Blendon Township, and the woman who was driving the car is dead.

So says the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office. It happened around 7:45 a.m., on 72nd Avenue at Tyler Street.

Police say the woman's car had stopped at a stop sign and then entered the intersection. That's when it was hit by the cement truck, driven by a 43-year-old Zeeland man. Police are still investigating. The name of the woman who was killed will be released after her family is notified.

The truck driver was not injured.

The intersection was shut down for a couple hours while police investigated.
