Matchbox Diner & Drinks, located at 1345 Lake Drive near Robinson Road in Eastown, has filed for bankruptcy.
The restaurant filed for bankruptcy on May 9th, though is working to reorganize and intends to remain open. Matchbox was apparently profitable when it first opened back in 2016, but that all changed when the pandemic struck, forcing the restaurant to close and upon reopening, business never rebounded.
Loan disputes between the owners have caused some problems, but co-owner Nathan Orange wants to assure resident Matchbox should still be around for a long time.
