GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel and some state lawmakers will discuss abortion rights at a series of meetings in Grand Rapids, Detroit and Lansing on Tuesday.
They're being dubbed "coffee conversations" by the Biden Administration.
In Grand Rapids, a pair of reproductive health-care advocates will join state representatives Kristian Grant and Rachel Hood in the discussion. The Grand Rapids meeting will be at 9:30 a.m. , the one in Lansing at 1 p.m., and the one in Detroit at 4 o'clock.
The meeting venues were not disclosed publicly in a news release.
This is a partial statement from that news release:
"Women’s reproductive health care advocates Amanda Zurawski and Kaitlyn Joshua will join coffee conversations with local officials including Attorney General Dana Nessel, Wayne County Commission Chair Alisha Bell, and legislators, to share the dangerous impact of Trump’s abortion bans and the stakes of the 2024 election. Because of Trump’s abortion bans, Zurawski was denied an abortion and nearly died in Texas and Joshua was prevented from getting health care for a miscarriage due to Louisiana's abortion laws.'
