KENTWOOD, Mich. -- The Kentwood Police Department says it is investigating a stabbing that happened last night in the 3000 block of Shaffer Avenue, a couple blocks north of 32nd Street.
Around 7:30, officers responded to a call at a business and located a 20-year-old with a non life-threatening stab wound. Police say the suspect, a 57-year-old man, was spotted walking nearby and was taken into custody.
Investigators say the victim and suspect are related. The victim's identity has not been released, nor the suspect's pending formal charges.
Police said it did not believe there was any immediate threat to the public at -large. The incident is still being investigated.
