Gerald R. Ford International Airport Begins $135 Million Expansion Project

The groundbreaking for the $135 million-dollar terminal expansion project at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport took place today. The expansion will add more than 175,000 square feet to the terminal.

Ticketing counters will be relocated to the expanded space on the west side of the building, while the baggage claim area will be consolidated and expanded into the east end of the building.

Ford airport is also adding a new checked baggage inspection system.

The goal is to have the project completed by 2027.
