GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Community members will be able to meet and have conversation with some Grand Rapids School Board members at a new initiative called "Coffee with the Board."
The Grand Rapids Public Schools say it will give the public a chance to have conversation with a few board members outside of the formal confines of the regular board meetings.
“We’re hopeful that the Coffee with the Board opportunities will allow space for us to have conversations with our constituents.”
-Kimberley Williams
Board of Education President
The first "Coffee with the Board" will take place Monday, April 15, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. in the library building on the Franklin Campus, just east of the Administration Building on MLK Jr. (Franklin) Street.
“We’ve heard our community tell us that they want to engage with us. They want to hear our thoughts and responses to their concerns where appropriate,” Grand Rapids Board of Education President Kimberley Williams said.
