BIG RAPIDS, Mich. -- The men's and women's basketball teams at Ferris State University will attempt to accomplish a rarity next week: have two squads from the same school advance to the Final Four at the same time.
Both teams have made it to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight round in the national tournament next week. FSU provided scheduling details in a news release.
The Bulldog women's squad is the number three overall seed for the D2 Elite Eight and will face sixth-seeded University of Tampa on Monday, March 25, with tipoff set for 12 p.m. Central Daylight Time in St. Joseph, Mo.
Meanwhile, the men's team is the eighth seed in the D2 Elite Eight round and will face top-seeded Minnesota State University on Tuesday, March 26, at 6 p.m. Central Daylight Time in Evansville, Ind.
With a win in the quarterfinal round, the women's team would advance to the national semifinals on Wednesday, March 27. The national championship game is scheduled for Friday, March 29.

This is the first time the Ferris State women’s team has appeared in the Elite Eight, and third time for the men’s team.
Ferris State captured the NCAA D2 Women's Midwest Regional title on Monday night against Grand Valley State in Allendale while the men's team won the regional crown by beating Lake Superior State on Tuesday evening in Indianapolis.
