Kent Co. Animal Shelter to raise fees due to rising costs

Today, the Kent County Board of Commissioners approved a new fee schedule for the Kent County Animal Shelter, that will go into effect on March 1st. This is to better align with the increase in operating costs, including price hikes in good as well as veterinary care and staff wages.

Just some of the notable fee adjustments are an increase of adoption for cats older than four months from $5 to $20 dollars, and fees for surrendering animals to the shelter has increased to $35 from $25.

A complete list of fee changes can be found here.
