No-show construction company owner files for bankruptcy

Jerold Saeman, the owner of West Michigan construction company, Bay to Bay Building Concepts, has now filed for bankruptcy protection, reporting debts amounting to nearly $1 million after having been accused of failing to complete work he was hired for.

According to court documents, Saeman owes nearly $912,000, with more than 100 creditors, including an excess of $264,000 to be paid to Hastings law firm. But the single largest listed debt — nearly $360,000 — is to a building materials supplier.

Saeman’s and Bay to Bay’s licenses were suspended by the state after a number of homeowners complained to the state, saying work they paid for either never got finished or never got started in the first place.
