Police with the Holland Department of Public Safety say they had to use spike strips to stop a suspect who led them on a chase last night.
It happened around 10:20 PM. Officers had initially been looking for a 31-year-old Holland man on an outstanding warrant and spotted him getting into a car in the area of 10th street and Pine Avenue. When attempting to pull him over, he did not stop and then led them on a chase out of downtown Holland.
Spike strips were then laid down, and police were able to stop his car and take the man into custody.
The man in question is expected to be formally charged today with fleeing and eluding.
