Infant deaths caused by unsafe sleep practices are currently down in Kent County.
Citing data from the county medical examiner, it said 11% of infant deaths in 2023 were due to unsafe sleeping environments, compared to 17% in 2022 and 23% in 2021. The lowest it's been in a decade.
Some safe sleep practices include putting the baby in their crib or bassinet and on their back every time they sleep.
