Project underway to upgrade and improve GR's Canal Park

A more than $7 million project is underway to give Canal Park in Grand Rapids a new and improved.

The city said the Invesment intends to improve accessibility to the Grand River, and Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation Director, David Marquardt, says it will be one of the biggest investments the city has made in a park in many years. The project includes building a new access point for people to launch kayaks and canoe, as well as a new playground. Construction is set to begin within the next two years.
