Noted mental health speaker to keynote Wedgwood's State of the Child event

GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- A State of the Child event aimed at educating the public about some of the challenges children and their families face comes up Feb. 23 at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park.

It is hosted by Wedgwood Christian Services and will feature mental-health experts and local teens discussing challenges such as substance use, life online and healthy relationships. There will be panel discussions and presentations from community experts and breakout sessions. More information on the event can be found at www.wedgwood.org.

“The state of youth mental health has been declared a national emergency, so candid conversations around hard topics, with caring, solutions-minded community members, are crucial to the well-being of West Michigan's children and our community at large,” said Dr. Daniel Gowdy, president and chief executive office, Wedgwood Christian Services.
