Thornapple Kellogg High School sheltered in place after receiving threat

In a news release, the Barry County Sheriff's Office say they are investigating an anonymous tip that indicated a student had brought a gun to Thornapple Kellog High School in Middleville, threatening to "Light Up" the school. The school then immediately went into 'shelter in place' while police and school staff investigated the tip.

The Michigan State Police searched the building along with a firearms detection dog, but no guns were located at the school. Once the search concluded, the shelter in place was lifted.

Investigation is still on going.
