West Michigan Authorities are reminding people that even though it may look OK, ice over bodies of water are not safe.
This comes after emergency crews were sent to Eastmanville Bayou, along the Grand River near 68th Avenue in Allendale Township, shortly after 11 a.m today. People said they were worried someone may have fallen through the ice.
Witnesses told deputies that they saw a man go into the water, but that he was able to get out, get into his car and drive away.
While they do not believe anyone is trapped under the ice, deputies want to remind the public that ice is still too weak to walk on.
