BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Kent County Sheriff's Office detectives have arrested a 46-year-old Indiana man and a 19-year-old man from Ilinois at a hotel in Byron Township.
Both men were taken into custody for alleged home invasion first-degree stemming from a burglary in Cascade Township, and possession of burglary tools.
"Kent County detectives learned that cash, jewelry and crowbars were hidden in a 2018 white Chrysler Pacifica after it was rented," KCSO Sgt. Kailey Gilbert said in a radio interview for WOOD Radio."
A 46-year-old man from Portage, Ind., and a 19-year-old man from Schaumberg, Ill., were taken into custody and booked into the Kent County Correctional Facility. They each were charged with first-degree home invasion related to a burglary in Cascade Township, and for alleged possession of burglary tools.
During execution of a search warrant, detectives recovered jewelry, cash, coins, walkie-talkies and screwdrivers. Detectives think the suspects may be tied to more burglaries in Byron Township.
