Mel Trotter providing shelter, seeking donations of warm, winter apparel

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Mel Trotter Ministries has an outreach team that goes outside looking for people who need shelter throughout the year - and especially now with the winter weather.

Heavy snow was forecasted for this weekend and artic temperatures next week.

Mel Trotter President Adrienne Goodstal was a guest on West Michigan's Morning News.

"We've been preparing for this, and we're ready," she said. "Ready to accept people who are seeking our services."

As part of its Code Blue Drive, Mel Trotter is seeking donations of winter clothing and apparel. Here is another website link with more information.

"You know, the boots and the hats and gloves. We're especially in need of larger-sized men's coats - extra size and larger. So that we can have those on hand and ready to give to people that are in need of those items," Goodstal said.

She added that the need is greater this year than it has been in the past. This link will take you to the donation page.
