Deputies Warn Public About Fake Prescription Pills

The Mecosta County Sheriff's Office is warning people about fake prescription pills that were seized and turned out to be methamphetamine.

Deputies say the pills had pharmaceutical markings but were actually meth, which is not out of the norm for criminal drug networks.

According to the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office, fentanyl is the main driver of drug overdoses, but finding meth pressed into counterfeit pills has become increasingly common. Deputies want to remind the community to only use medications prescribed by actual pharmaceuticals and medical professionals.
