Flags at Half-Staff to Honor Fallen Michigan Native Marine

Flags across the Michigan and the U.S are at half-staff today, in honor of fallen soldier 23-year-old U.S Marine Sgt. Matthew K. Bylski. A Royal Oak native, who died in a training accident at Camp Pendleton in California.

Bylski, a vehicle commander in the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, died as the result of a tactile vehicle rollover on back on Dec. 12th.

To coincide with the funeral held on Thursday, Governor Gretchen Whitmer has ordered the U.S. and state flags at the Michigan State Capitol and on public grounds to fly at half-staff until tomorrow.
